How Murdoch ‘ruperters’ operate 26

Sky News Australia tweets drivel on a regular basis, mostly from the unhinged Rowan Dean and sundry others of the after dark menagerie. However, this one went unattributed, so I can only presume the person wasn’t game enough to include their by-line. They tweeted:

“Biased CNN anchor Don Lemon has delivered an unhinged and baseless rant alleging every person who voted for Donald Trump is actually a Nazi and a member of the Ku Klux Klan.”1

It refers to an interview between respected CNN anchors Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo, with the latter in part acting as a devil’s advocate Trump voter. Of course, without investigating, you can be almost certain that because this comes from Sky News Australia it will be either a lie, or have so much spin on it that in encourages the reader to make an assessment at odds with reality. However, I did investigate.

The gist of what Lemon said is “If you find yourself, Chris [Cuomo], in a crowd, and the person next to you is carrying a Confederate Battle Flag, or the person next to you has on a Neo-Nazi symbol of some type, or has on a ‘Camp Auschwitz’ [logo] then in your mind wouldn’t you say, ‘My goodness, I have made the wrong decision, I need to get out of here or rethink what I’m doing’? He continued: “If you voted for Trump you voted for the person who the Klan supported. You voted for the person who Nazis support. You voted for the person who the alt-right supports. That’s the crowd that you are in. You voted for the person who incited a crowd to go into the Capitol and potentially take the lives of lawmakers. Took the lives of police officers. Took the lives of innocent [people] who were there on the Capitol that day.”2

Notice that Sky News Australia did not refer to the first part of Lemon’s piece above, because that would demonstrate to everyone that the mob who invaded the Capitol building in Washington DC on January 6 was, in fact, peppered with Nazis and likely Klan supporters. There is no doubt about this, as these nutters took selfies and allowed others to photograph them3. Many of these photographs are now online and everyone can see many of those who were there and the garb they wore. These photographs have been harvested by or sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with the aim of identifying and arresting the perpetrators. There is even a report that one person who, posing as a like-minded person, has joined one of the Capitol invaders’ social media groups, and has harvested more photographs with which these people brag, and sent them to the FBI.

This sort of Sky News Australia lie is typical of the Murdoch media in Australia and in the US and UK. There is little real news that has not been adulterated with spin or used to support a lie. This spin and these lies are to support the ultraconservative side of politics and to make sure that taxpayers’ money keeps rolling in to the Murdoch media empire from the government. They are currently the main threat to our democracy.

      Mark,
If ever you bump into such lying ‘rupertage’, just point me at it. I’m always on the lookout. Just be aware that I do not subscribe to any Murdoch bullshit outlets, so unless you can send me a copy, a screenshot or a photo, I cannot see it.

The rot starts at the head, as the illegal UK phone tapping scandal by News Corp showed only too well. The one redeeming thing is that the constant lying which is the staple of News Corp across the world even has James Murdoch crying foul and calling for change.

In case you missed it here’s a classic example of (1) how Fox USA operates and (2) the character of its presenters:

Some leading Fox mouthpieces appear to live in a Bizzaro world where integrity, honesty, fact and reason are considered to be sins against the corporation’s ethos

      Jon,
It all started going arse-up when Reagan repealed a truth in journalism law. It needs to be reintroduced, and not only in the US.
