Cannibalism?

In June, I wrote a piece which suggested that when Trump sent in the National Guard to Los Angeles, he was hoping that violence would flare up, so that he could use it much as the nazis used the Reichstag Fire in February, 1933. The Nazis used this as an excuse to issue the Reichstag Fire Decree to suspend the right to assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and other constitutional protections, including all restraints on police investigations. The decree permitted the regime to arrest and incarcerate political opponents without specific charge, to dissolve political organisations, and to confiscate private property. The decree also gave the regime the authority to overrule state and local laws and overthrow state and local governments1.

However, sending the National Guard into Los Angeles failed to provoke Trump’s desired response. So another plan had to be developed. Trump initially suggested sending the National Guard into cities in Democrat states, but that seems to have fizzled out, perhaps because it seemed to be a waste of time in Los Angeles and the subsequent invasion of Washington D.C., as the National Guard did not have to take action against unrest or crime, but were reduced to cleaning the streets and parks2.

Ultraconservative activist, Charlie Kirk, has been murdered at a public speaking function at a university in Utah3. Now the far right of US politics have their martyr, and his death was initially laid at the foot of a leftist, gay or transgender person, without any evidence, of course. Despite the lack of evidence, many of the declining MAGA crowd have come out of the woodwork, effectively stating that ‘this means war’. What it will provoke is anybody’s guess, but I suspect it will involve more murders, and I would not be surprised if they are Democrats.

One would hope that it is not something like that which began after the murder of Ernst vom Rath by a Jewish teenager, Herschel Grynszpan, in Paris in November 1938. The murder of that young diplomat was used as the excuse for Kristallnacht, a two-day, nationwide pogrom against Germany’s Jews that is now seen as a harbinger for the holocaust4.

One thing about Kirk’s murder which strikes me as odd, is that the single shot from the rifle was fired from about 125 metres away from where Kirk was sitting3. To be able to shoot someone from that distance requires a significant degree of expertise, something that your average punter does not possess. This made me initially suspect that it was some sort of organised hit, rather than just a lone fruitcake.

Kirk has also been very vocal in his calls to release all the Epstein files to the public5, something that Trump will not do, because it is clear that his name is all over them as a rapist and paedophile. So, I suspect that Kirk is not looked upon particularly fondly among the other paedophiles in the Republican Party.

What sort of person was Kirk? He was a christofascist. He grew up in a churchgoing family in Illinois and attended an evangelical school, later saying he was “ready to make Jesus Christ the Chairman of the Board of my life.” Initially, when he launched Turning Point USA he was a secular evangelist for capitalism and free markets and advocated for the separation of church and state, stating that the imposition of Christian version of morality through government policy, was wrong. However, by 2020, he had endorsed the “Seven Mountain Mandate,” a ‘theology’ that calls on Christians to take dominion over government, education, media, family, business, arts and religion6.

He was an islamophobe. When Muslim Zohran Mamdani shocked the US by winning the New York City Democratic primary, Kirk said, “Twenty-four years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11…Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City.” He called Islam “the sword the Left is using to slit the throat of America”7.

In a recent visit to the UK he stated that the UK was a “husk” of its former self and “is increasingly a conquered country”. On returning to the US, he described the UK as a “totalitarian third world hellhole”, adding that he had seen a cafe in which “every single table was taken by a Mohammedan and a fully burqa-wearing woman – not a single native Brit” and that people were being arrested for online posts that displayed no apparent harmful intent8. Having been to the UK in recent years, this is, of course, bullshit.

He was a racist and white-supremacist. He said that successful black female leaders such as Joy Reid, Michelle Obama, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, “did not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken seriously” without affirmative action. “You had to steal a white person’s slot.” He also called Martin Luther King Jr “awful” and “not a good person” and added that the US “made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.” He also assumed that if he was on a plane with a black pilot that it was possible for the black pilot to not be suitably qualified7.

He was a homophobe and a transphobe. He called gay and transgender people “groomers” who are “destructive”, he opposed gay marriage, and campaigned against gender-affirming care for transgender people, insisting, “we must ban trans-affirming care”9. He rejected the “entire premise of transgenderism”, and would not “call a man [a woman] or a woman a man”. He said “it’s a mental disease, and we’ve allowed it to all of a sudden become an identity. … I think that there are two sexes, zero genders and unlimited personalities, and what we used to call a personality disorder we now call a gender disorder that we treat with body treatment when it should be brain treatment.” He also said he believed there should be a “Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor”10.

He was an anti-abortionist. He maintained that life starts at conception and “it is never right to justify terminations under the guise of saying they’re ‘unwanted’. That’s how we get Auschwitz”. When challenged over whether he was comparing abortion to the Holocaust, Kirk replied: “It’s worse. It’s worse. It’s 45 million babies. It’s nearly eight times worse than the Holocaust10. When asked if his own daughter, at the age of 10, was raped and became pregnant would he force here to deliver the baby. He responded by saying that, yes, the baby would be delivered11.

He was a 2020 election denier. Kirk organised but did not attend the so-called “Stop the Steal” protests after Trump lost the 2020 election and helped coordinate buses to take people to the 6 January 2021 rally near the White House, where Trump urged the crowd to “fight, fight, fight” to overturn the election defeat by Joe Biden12. In a later deleted tweet from two days before the January 6th 2021 insurrection, Kirk said “this historic event will likely be one of the largest and most consequential in American history. The team at @TrumpStudents and Turning Point Action are honored to help make this happen, sending 80+ buses full of patriots to DC to fight for this president”10.

He was a Covid denier. He spread misinformation about Covid-19, and railed against lockdowns and mask mandates13.

He was a misogynist. Upon billionaire singer-songwriter Taylor Swift’s engagement, Kirk told her to “reject feminism” and “submit to your husband, Taylor, you’re not in charge”. Charlie Kirk mocked Taylor Swift for focusing on her career before marriage in her 30s. He said she should “have more children than houses” and that marrying her football-playing fiancé might “de-radicalise her”14. Kirk has said that a proportion of the 1 in 5 women who say they have experienced some form of sexual assault are lying. He even said that women who have accused Donald Trump of sexual assault are liars and said E. Jean Carroll was lying about being raped by Donald Trump because she’s “not exactly a supermodel”15.

On top of all this appalling behaviour, Kirk has set up ‘watch lists’ for academics and school board members. The ‘Professor Watchlist’ is a website run by Kirk’s organisation. It lists academic staff which Kirk believed “discriminate against conservative students, promote anti-American values and advance leftist propaganda in the classroom.” This has led to numerous academics being threatened with violence16. One Tracey Patton noted that she was on Kirk’s ‘Professor Watchlist’, on which she landed in 2024 after writing something that inflamed the MAGAts. And once her name was on it, the harassment machine roared to life. For weeks her inbox and voicemail were deluged. Mostly white men spat venom through the phone, calling her a “bitch,” “c**t,” and “n****r”, and threatening her with all manner of violence. They overwhelmed the university’s PR lines and the president’s office with calls demanding that she be sacked. This was so relentless that the head of campus security reached out to offer her an escort, because they feared one of these keyboard soldiers might step out of his mother’s basement and carry out their threats17.

He was a gun nut. He said in April 2023 that he thought some gun deaths every year were “worth it”. “I think it’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational”18. In the US, nearly 47,000 people died of gun-related injuries in the United States in 2023, according to the latest available statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)18. This is almost 50 times the per capita rate of gun deaths in Australia19.

The person who allegedly shot Kirk has been said to be a follower of another Trump acolyte and neonazi, Nicolas Fuentes, whose ‘groyper movement’ has been at odds with Kirk in recent years, because the latter was not seen as sufficiently radical. They have even been known to disrupt some of Kirk’s speaking engagements, such that Kirk has labelled them extremists. Fuentes’ groyper movement is a white supremacist, antisemitic, christofascist organisation. After Kirk’s murder, Fuentes said, “I am devastated. It feels like a nightmare that we’ll never wake up from,” and called for unity, writing, “The violence and hatred has to stop. Our country needs Christ now more than ever”20. Self-awareness is not one of their strong suits.

As Kirk said some time ago, the cost of having the second amendment permitting US citizens to bear arms and protect their god-given rights, may be that some gun deaths occur. It is perhaps fitting that he offered himself up as part of that cost. The phrase ‘hoist by their own petard’ comes to mind.

re kirk …. What intrigued me was all the memorials with seemingly professionally made posters that have appeared all over ‘muriKa within a day or so of the ‘event’.

Wonder if ‘they’ were ready for it? Or if it was a ‘sacrificial false flag? Or maybe the shooter was just supposed to only shoot ‘his ear’? 😁

to misquote Michael Caine “you were only supposed to blow his bloody ear off”
