The great tragedy of the shamelessly regressive politics of Pauline Hanson is not so much that it is rooted in ignorance, prejudice and fear, though it is; not so much that it projects the ugly face of racism, though it does; not so much that it is dangerously divisive and deeply hurtful to many of her fellow Australians, though it is; not even that will cripple our efforts to enmesh ourselves in a region wherein lie the jobs and prosperity of future generations of young Australians, though it will – the great tragedy is that it perpetrates a myth, a fantasy, a lie. The myth of monoculture. The lie that we can retreat to it.

So well said and so very sad that other stupid, racist people agree with her.
The traditional and major parties are failing to get it right, for a variety of reasons, but One Notion, led by the Rancid Ranga, are only going to enhance what is making everything go awry. She claims to not be “racist”, but that is clearly a lie. The problem is not so much that she lies, but that she believes in her own lies.
She does raise issues that need to be addressed and discussed, but she does so in ways that are utterly divisive. There are ways to approach and conduct discussions that are not divisive, but they require actually thinking, and not a superficial first impression. Thinking is painful, not thinking is even more painful, but those who fail to think see others as the source of the pain.
The fish rots from the head, and in this case, the “head” appears to be the likes of Gina Reinhardt. There are articles that reason that the billionaires (and trillionaires) are the nemesis of democracy and a true “liberal” society, that they are the new monarchs. Were they adequately subject to taxation, without the loopholes to evade the taxation, there would be no national Budget debt, and able to pay for the physical infrastructure, and the wages and salaries of those doing things that the community needs done, from the cleaners, to the nurses, to the teachers, and more. It would mean decent transport, rail and road, and not so reliant on private cars, even in remote rural areas.
The “gift” of a “light” aircraft for the Rancid Ranga to use is arguably bribery and corruption, buying political influence. It is indicative of grossly excessive wealth, from trading type “Capital Gains”, and much of that is driving so much of the dystopia.
